The 38th Annual Capital Pride Parade steps off Saturday, June 8, 2013, 4:30 pm, at 22nd & P Streets, NW, Washington, DC. The first contingent is expected to reach the review stand before 5pm; and the final contingent should pass the review stand at by 7:15pm.
Voted DC’s best parade each year by readers of the Washington City Paper, the Capital Pride Parade travels 1.5 miles through Dupont Circle and 17th Street and ends in the Logan Circle neighborhood of northwest Washington, DC. The parade is expected to attract more than 100,000 spectators.
New for 2013: The parade will travel north on 14th Street between P and S Streets. We are excited to bring the parade to the business along 14th Street and engage the expanding LGBTA community.
The parade will include more than 170 contingents-floats, vehicles, walkers, entertainment-consisting of local businesses, Capital Pride Heroes and Engendered Spirit awardees, politicians, community groups, drag queens and much more. The review stand is located at 15th and P Streets, NW in front of Tortilla Coast; another announcement stand is just east of Dupont Circle on New Hampshire Avenue at Q Street. A sign language interpreter will be available at the 15th and P Streets review stand.
Parade Grand Marshal
Do you know someone that would make an excellent Grand Marshall? Email the parade committee at parade@capitalpride.org and pass along your idea. We’re always on the look out for outgoing individuals that have contributed to equality for all and would love to share in our celebration.

Capital Pride Parade Review from 2012

The annual Capital Pride Parade went off without a hitch this past Saturday as the traveling party went through Dupont Circle, 17th Street, and other parts of Northwest D.C. In what is arguably one of the best—if not, at least the most wild and fun parades you’ll ever see in D.C., this year’s edition was no different with elaborate floats, dancing on the streets, and lots of giveaways like glitter and beads. It’s like Mardi Gras but with more half naked men and drag queens! This yearly event is a “must see” for all D.C. residents!
