We welcome you to celebrate with the LGBTQ+ community and its allies at the historic Capital Pride Parade! This beloved tradition honors our history and acknowledges the evolution of the LGBTQ+ neighborhoods in Washington, DC, while respecting the origins and importance of taking to the streets in our fight for equality. Be prepared to experience one of the largest Pride Parades to ever take place in the Nation’s Capital.
Parade Route
We have a new Parade route for 2024! Please note that the Parade route will NOT be going through the historic Dupont neighborhood, however, we’re excited that our annual Block Party will remain on 17th street, with our Family Area at Stead Park.
Staging: On 15th Street NW, between 11:00 am and 2:30 pm
Step off: 14th Street at T Street NW, at 3:00 pm
Finish: Pennsylvania Avenue at 9th Street NW

Capital Pride Parade Grandstand and Thomas Circle Viewing Area
Get the best seats for the biggest celebration in the city at the Capital Pride Parade!
Join the celebration with our #TotallyRadical Grandstand bleacher seats or a nice view from Thomas Circle and feel the energy and excitement of our colorful community.
Accessibility
There will be a dedicated accessibility zone at the beginning of the Parade route and in front of the Grand Stand seating, in front of the announcement stand, to accommodate individuals with wheelchairs and in need of ASL. A reservation will be required to guarantee your space.
Family Zone
The Capital Pride Alliance is committed to providing a safe and festive space along the Parade route for families and children.
Join us on June 8th from 10AM-3PM at Stead Park for a day of family fun! We’re excited to be joined by our Family Area partners including Playtime Project, DC Central Kitchen, the National Children’s Museum, Drag Story Hour DMV, Mermaids for Pride, and Rainbow Families. Activities will include crafts, cooking demonstrations, and drag story time at 11:00AM and 1:00PM.

- When is the parade?
Saturday, June 8, 2024. - Where is the parade?
The Parade is anticipated to begin at 14th and T Streets NW and end at Pennsylvania Avenue and 9th Streets NW. Please note that the route is subject to change. - What time does the parade start?
3:00PM. - Where does the parade end?
The Parade is anticipated to end by 8:00PM. Most contingents may be on the route for UP TO 2 hours. The pace of the Parade regulates this. - What time do I show up?
Staging assignments will be provided in May 2024. - Do I need to have a pass to enter the staging area?
Yes! Your pass will be sent to the email used for your registration 1 week prior to the event. The pass may be used by the onsite contact for your contingent. - How many people can I have in my contingent?
You may have up to 100 people for a marching contingent, 75 people if bringing a car/truck, or 50 people if bringing a float. You may have up to 5 motorcycles in your contingent. - How vehicles/floats can I have in my group?
You may have one (1) float/vehicle per registration. Additional vehicles/floats may be added for an additional fee. - How much for extra people/vehicles/floats?
$2 per person, $75 per vehicle - What roads will be closed?

For MARCHERS, a certificate of insurance is not needed. For FLOATS & VEHICLES insurance is needed and should be secured by your registered organization’s insurance company. Please read our registration page for more details. - When is orientation?
Orientation will be held in May 2024. Please stay tuned for more information! - What Tier do I fall under?

Due to limited space, the parade is only open to registered public groups, organizations, and businesses.
