DC Pride Poem-a-Day seeks entries for 3rd year

DC Pride Poems is now open for submissions for its third year. An annual project designed to showcase LGBTQ+ poets from the greater Washington, DC region, the project features 30 poets, releasing a video each day during the month of June, in honor of National Pride Month.

DC Pride Poems is proud to represent the richness and diversity of queer poets from the nation’s capital.

The theme for 2024 is Tribute Poems. Poems written for, about, or in the style of someone the writer admires—someone famous or not—will be considered for publication. There is no fee to enter. Only poets living in the metropolitan DC area are eligible. The deadline to submit up to 5 poems is February 18. Full guidelines are available online. Poems should be submitted online at: https://www.pridepoems.com/submit

The videos from the projects first two years are archived, and available for continued viewing, at: https://www.pridepoems.com/

DC Pride Poems is co-curated by Jon Gann and Kim Roberts. We welcome The DC Center for the LGBT Community as a co-sponsor this year. Financial support for the project is provided by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
