Sergeant Major (Retired) Robert “Bobby” Code enlisted in the United States Army in November 1994.  He graduated from One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort McClellan, Alabama in October 1995.  Sergeant Major Code’s previous assignments include Corrections Specialist, United States Disciplinary Barracks, 705th Military Police Battalion, Fort Leavenworth Kansas; Squad Leader and NCOIC of Military Police Investigations section, C Company, 704th Military Police Battalion, Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington; Drill Sergeant, D Company, 787th Military Police Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Special Agent and Detachment Sergeant, 76th Military Police Detachment (CID), Fort Bliss, Texas; Battalion Operations NCOIC, 11th Military Police Battalion (CID), Fort Hood, Texas; Battalion First Sergeant for the 1002nd Military Police Battalion (CID), Warner Barracks, Germany; Battalion Operations NCOIC, 19th Military Police Battalion (CID) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Group Operations NCOIC, 701st Military Police Group (CID), Quantico, Virginia, G3 Sergeant Major for the United States Army Criminal Investigation Command (USACIDC), Quantico, Virginia.  He is a graduate of Class #68 of the Noncommissioned Officer Leadership Center of Excellence and United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Fort Bliss, Texas.  He retired as the Provost Sergeant Major for the Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region / Military District of Washington, after twenty-six years of exceptionally meritorious, faithful, and honorable service in November 2021.  He holds a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Human Resources Degree from Excelsior College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice (Cum Laude) from Troy University, and an Associate degree in Technology from Pierce College.

Bobby and his husband remained in the National Capital Region after his retirement, where he continues to serve his community as a Yoga Instructor teaching Yoga to many Soldiers, Marines, DEA, FBI Agents, and their families.  Bobby also serves on the Board of Directors for the Capital Pride Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the needs of the LGBTQ+ community all year long, through educational programs, major events, fundraising, outreach, advocacy, providing platforms for visibility, and supporting the work of our many community organizations and local businesses.
