The Capital Pride Alliance Hosts Wrap-Up Celebration Highlighting Landmark Event’s Lasting Impact
WASHINGTON, DC (September 30, 2025)– Today, the Capital Pride Alliance and WorldPride DC organizers announced the details of the WorldPride 2025 Impact Report at a special event at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The event gathered community members, supporters, and partners to commemorate the success and legacy of WorldPride Washington DC 2025 and to discuss the future of Pride in Washington, DC after such a monumental event.
“We are proud that Washington, DC is a city that brings people together, and WorldPride brought the world to DC and DC to the world,” said Mayor Bowser. “At hundreds of events, held in neighborhoods across all eight wards, we were able to showcase and celebrate our resilience, and our commitment to progress. Together, we made history and celebrated the people and values that make Washington, DC the best city in the world.”
Over the course of WorldPride DC 2025, the city experienced an unprecedented gathering of voices, art, activism, and celebration. Among the many highlights:
- 1,200,000 people from across the country and around the world joined in.
- $310.7 million was generated through tourism, local business revenue, and job creation—adding $25 million in taxes for DC.
- Cultural and community engagement soared: 400+ events and programs and 707 volunteers across 23 days.
- Media coverage reached 100 billion global impressions, raising visibility for LGBTQ+ rights and issues.

WorldPride DC demonstrated the power of community-driven planning, inclusive funding, strategic government support, and the importance of Pride. That legacy continues with Pride365, a belief that pride is no singular event, but a commitment that is made all year. Funds raised through the Pride365 Fund build pathways to more inclusive programs and community partnerships. Through Pride365, users can explore allied businesses around the DC region that supported WorldPride and Capital Pride. There is also an exciting new streaming service – Pride365 Radio – with content and entertainment 24/7. WorldPride’s messages of innovation, resilience, inspiration, and advocacy will fuel future Pride celebrations around the globe.
“WorldPride DC was more than an event—it was a defining moment in our history. Despite political attacks and many challenges, our community showed resilience, radical joy, and determination, but there is still more work to do.” said Ryan Bos, Executive Director of the Capital Pride Alliance.
