Center Global Annual Reception

Please join us as we celebrate the past year of success and look ahead to the coming months for Center Global. We’re a project of the DC Center for the LGBT community, providing support to DC-area LGBT asylum seekers, asylees and refugees.

The MC of the event will be the legendary Rayceen Pendarvis. Rayceen is known as the High Priestess of Love, the Queen of the Shameless Plug, and the Goddess of DC, is an emcee, entertainer, social media personality, activist, and lifelong Washingtonian.
In addition to being a columnist for SWERV magazine, Rayceen is a regular contributor to several online and print publications. Rayceen can be seen regularly as host of The Ask Rayceen Show, a free monthly live event on first Wednesdays, March through November at HRC Equality Center in Washington, DC. For more information, please visit AskRayceen.com

It’s also our chance to thank our gracious supporters.
This event will be held on the rooftop of Room & Board. The evening’s fare will include:
Hors d’oeuvres
Cocktails
Music
Silent Auction
Awards
Fanfare with DC friends, old and new
Every dollar we raise goes toward Center Global and the incredible work of our volun- teers to support our LGBT participants. It’s with your help that we can raise awareness of asylum-seekers’ plights and of Center Global’s non-government funded services for those in need throughout the DMV.
The evening’s event will include the presentation of Center Global’s annual awards. This year, the Global Advocate Award will be presented to Ty Cobb & the HRC Global Team, and the Global Courage Award to Gleb Latnik, Russian LGBT Human Rights activist.

We look forward to celebrating your efforts, our Center Global family, and to raising funds for continued success in aiding the LGBT community members in need.
Donations at the patron and multiple sponsor levels are greatly appreciated. Every dollar we raise goes toward assisting asylum seekers and asylees with food, Metro cards, referrals to legal aid and social services, and monthly support dinners.
Our service providers include: Whitman-Walker Health, Human Rights First, the Asylum Support Assis- tance Project (ASAP), TASSC International, and others.
