LOOKING FOR TRUCKS, TRAILERS AND DRIVERS?

The LGBT Truckers leadership has graciously offered their assistance connecting registered parade contingents with drivers that have trucks willing to drive your contingent in the Capital Pride Parade on Saturday, June 8, 2019.

Interested contingents are responsible for contacting and working with your driver. Things to consider:

• Each drivers circumstances are very different. Some may be able to provide truck and trailer for no fee; others may need to charge for fuel or any addition fees required by their employers.
• Drivers may not have access to low-boy trailers. We are compiling a list of companies that lease trailers. It would be the registrants responsibility to work with your driver to determine the type of tractor and best pick-up location. Depending on the driver, registrants may need to lease the trailer and plan for the driver to pick it up enroute to DC.
• Expected costs:
  • Truck charges: possibly donated for free; possibly between $500-$800. Compensation is on an individual basis.
  • Trailer rental charges possibly between $300 – $800
  • Fuel
  • Overnight parking in Washington, DC on Friday, June 7, 2019. Possibly $40 – $80/night.

• Timeline for registered contingents:
  • ASAP: Contact Shelle at lgbttruckers@gmail.com to match with a driver and determine if a trailer lease is necessary
    • Provide Shelle with approximate length of trailer and/or number of participants on the trailer.
  • June 8 between 12pm – 3pm: Truck and trailer lined up in staging zone
  • June 8 between 4:30 – 7:30: Parade kick-off from staging zone; end of parade approximately 30 minutes after departing staging zone
