The Annual LGBT Celebration for the Washington, DC Metro Area

History. Vision. Legacy.

Volunteer for Capital Pride

Capital Pride is both one of the largest Pride Celebrations in the country and one of the largest events in the metropolitan area every summer. While community organizations spend the entire year preparing and planning for the events, it is the activity and energy of the June festivities that demonstrate that Capital Pride is truly a community event. The largest and most visible sign of that is, of course, the hundreds of volunteers who come out to lend a hand in the operations of the various programs and activities. Without their hard work and dedication on behalf of the community, there would be no celebrations.

There are countless ways for members of our community to get involved in the diverse programming that is Capital Pride 2008. If you are interested in signing up as a volunteer and getting alerts about specific volunteer opportunities, please fill out the online Volunteer Form and then watch your e-mail box for announcements and opportunities for the events of your interest.

For more information, e-mail volunteer@capitalpride.org.

Our volunteer staffing program is coordinated through the generous assistance of Burg undy Crescent Volunteers, Inc. Its board members and its legions of volunteers assist to make Capital Pride events a success every year. If you are interested in learning more about BCV, or participating in its other volunteer activities throughout the year, please check out their web site.
