ABOUT CAPITAL PRIDE
Capital Pride, located in Washington, DC, is the non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of the LGBTA community and its partners through educational events, entertainment, community outreach, and celebrations of diversity, including the annual Pride Parade and Festival in our Nation’s Capital. Capital Pride is administered by a Board of Directors, managed by a small staff, and supported by a large cadre of volunteers. Donations made to Capital Pride are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

The annual Capital Pride Celebration attracts more than 250,000 people each year! With nearly two weeks of over 30 events concentrated in late May and early June, and even more events during the rest of the year, our sponsors are able to target one of the most loyal, captive, and lucrative markets available. Whether it’s to promote products or services or to support the community, your sponsorship is targeted multiple times to an audience that is looking for safe and supportive businesses and organizations to patronize or join. Sponsors receive year-round exposure through the Capital Pride website, newsletter, and other social media outlets. In addition, you will have the option to choose from a variety of unique branding opportunities that will broaden and enrich your exposure with our community. Capital Pride will work with you to identify the best way to brand your services.

This sponsorship guide has been provided to you and your business or organization to assist in deciding which branding opportunities might be available to you and to assist you in selecting the level of sponsorship you desire. • More than 250,000 people attend the annual Capital Pride events, including the Parade and Pennsylvania Avenue Festival.

• The Capital Pride Facebook page has more than 7,400 likes, our Twitter account has over 3,100 followers, and we have over 5,600 subscribers to the e-newsletter distributed twice a month.
• The annual Capital Pride Celebration is covered by major print, television, radio and online media outlets from around the world.
• A recent study shows that the U.S. LGBT population is roughly 16 million people, and their buying power is more than $790 billion.*
• According to the Human Rights Campaign, more than 300,000 individuals consulted HRC’s Buying for Equality guide to ensure that their money was spent at fair-minded businesses.
• In a recent survey by Harris-Interactive, 48% of gay and lesbian adults reported that they liked to keep up with the latest trends and styles, compared to only 38% of their heterosexual counterparts.**
• More than 70% of gay and lesbian individuals reported that they have switched products and or service providers because they learned that the company supported the LGBT community or had LGBT friendly policies.**
