The Blair Underwood Healthcare Center provides care regardless of ability to pay. HIV, Medical, Pharmacy, and STD testing services are available on site.

 

All Souls Memorial Episcopal Church

The mission of All Souls Church is to be a Christ-centered sanctuary where a diverse community worships and serves.  We live this mission through faithful celebration of the Eucharist, Christian education, and loving nurture of both members and neighbors.

 

Bet Mishpachah

Bet Mishpachah is a congregation for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Straight Jews and all who wish to participate in an inclusive, egalitarian, and mutually supportive community. Founded in 1975, our congregation is celebrating its Double Chai -36th Anniversary this year.  We join together at the DC-JCC for weekly Shabbat services.  We also have educational and social events, cultural activities, social action/social justice community service, and Holy Day services.  Our mission is to provide a safe space for affirming our religious and cultural heritage, and integrating our gender, sexual and spiritual identities.  Our membership is comprised of singles, couples, and families, and is open to everyone, regardless of religious affiliation, sexual orientation, or gender identity. We are proud to have a celebratory community of women and men who share equally in the leadership of the congregation. 

 

Brightest Young Things

The BYT umbrella includes DC’s largest independently owned arts and culture webzine BrightestYoungThings.com, and the event organizing and PR juggernaut BYT Productions.  BYT caters to the interesting and interested, bridging the gap between online and offline through its informed coverage of everything exciting happening in the District and by producing unique events and festivals.

 

Capital Area Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber, the Capital Area’s LGBT Chamber of Commerce is the nonprofit, nonpartisan, largely-volunteer network of 400 Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) and Ally members in addition to the nearly 5,000 LGBT supporters who own or are employed by businesses, nonprofits, and government in DC, Virginia, and Maryland.  The Chamber is an affiliate of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and was Chamber of the Year 2012. The Chamber’s mission is to advocate, promote and facilitate the success of LGBT businesses, professionals and their allies in the Metro DC region.

Capital Area Reconciling United Methodists 

Coalition of United Methodists from Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., and parts of West Virginia who advocate for the full-inclusion of all LGBTA people into the United Methodist Denomination.

 

Cherry Fund

The Cherry Fund, established in 1997, and located in Washington, DC, is an independent, all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit foundation, the purpose of which is to raise funds for the HIV/AIDS service community via an annual charity dance event.

D.C.’s Different Drummers

 Community Music, Service and Fun for over 30 Years.DC’s Different Drummers is the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area’s music organization for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, family and friends with several performing groups including the Capitol Pride Symphonic Band (CPSB), Capitol Pride Winds, DC Swing! big band, DCDD Marching Band, Pep Band, and several small ensembles. We welcome all of our friends and supporters in our 31st year!In addition to creating fine music, our goals are to have fun, play with pride, work together, and educate others.  Although we have differing backgrounds, experiences, talents, and abilities, we share the goal of excellence in music. As a volunteer community musical organization, we have in our ranks professional musicians, music students, former members of the top military bands, and individuals whose last musical performances date back to their high school or college days.

DC Child and Family Services 

The District of Columbia Child & Family Services Agency provides important services to promote the safety and well-being of children and families.  The agency coordinates public private partnerships to preserve families though foster care, adoption and child welfare services.  Currently, the District has over 1400 children in foster care who need families like yours to provide them with a nurturing and safe environment.

 

DC Office of Human Rights

The District of Columbia Office of Human Rights (OHR) was established to eradicate discrimination, increase equal opportunity and protect human rights for persons who live, work, or visit in the District of Columbia. The primary function of the agency is to enforce the District of Columbia Human Rights Act, the District of Columbia Family and Medical Leave Act, the District of Columbia Parental Leave Act and the District of Columbia Language Access Act. In addition to those local laws, the OHR, being a Fair Employment Practice Agency and a Fair Housing Assistance Program agency, can investigate and adjudicate complaints of discrimination filed under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Equal Employment Opportunity Act), Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (Fair Housing Act), the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. 

DC Preservation League (DCPL)

The DC Preservation League (DCPL), founded in 1971 as “Don’t Tear It Down,” is a nonprofit membership-supported organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing Washington’s historic buildings and open spaces for future generations. As Washington’s citywide preservation advocacy organization, DCPL identifies significant buildings and neighborhoods throughout the District, monitors threats to them, and increases public awareness of historic resources.

 

 

Dignity Washington

Dignity/Washington is a faith community of LGBT Catholics, their families, and friends.  Having been a community partner of Capital Pride since the program began in 2007, members of Dignity/Washington understand the meaning of community.  They celebrate that understanding every Sunday evening, when they gather to celebrate Mass at 6:00 PM, at St. Margaret’s Church near Dupont Circle.

Dignity/Washington members also come together to celebrate community with a wide range of educational, spiritual, and social events at the Dignity Center, located at 721 – 8th Street, SE, on Capitol Hill.  More information about the schedule of Dignity/Washington Masses, as well as other programs and events, may be found by visiting our website.

Food & Friends

The mission of Food & Friends is to foster a community caring for men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses by preparing and delivering specialized meals and groceries in conjunction with nutrition counseling.

Ford’s Theatre

Friendship Hospital for Animals

 Friendship Hospital for Animals provides high-quality, compassionate veterinary care to the cats and dogs of the Washington, D.C. metro area. We have been accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) for over 50 years.  To best meet the needs of our clients and patients, we are open 24 hours a day, every day, all year long.

 

Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington

The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC is at the forefront of the gay and lesbian choral movement, continuing its mission to “to entertain through excellent musical performance, to affirm the place of gay people in society, and to educate about the gay experience.”  Now celebrating its 30th Anniversary Season, GMCW has performed at the concert We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration, at the 33rd and 25th Annual Kennedy Center Honors in honor of Elizabeth Taylor and Jerry Herman, the National Equality March, with Margaret Cho at the Warner Theatre and as part of the inaugural celebration of President Bill Clinton in 1997.In addition to being the largest gay men’s chorus in the United States, with more than 275 singing members, GMCW has more than 100 support volunteers, 750 subscribers, 500 donors and an annual audience of nearly 10,000.

GW LGBT Alumni Association

 The George Washington LGBT Alumni Association represents the interests of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) alumni to the University and provides advisory support for LGBT alumni programs. Additionally, the association fosters connections with the LGBT alumni community through events, reunions, networking opportunities and other special activities and supports university initiatives for current LGBT students at GW. The GW LGBT Alumni Association welcomes all GW alumni and friends interested in supporting excellence in education, and building pride, spirit, and community.

 

Human Rights Campaign

As the largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) represents a force of more than 1.5 million members and supporters nationwide – all committed to making HRC’s vision a reality. Founded in 1980, HRC advocates on behalf of LGBT Americans, mobilizes grassroots actions in diverse communities, invests strategically to elect fair-minded individuals to office, and educates the public about LGBT issues.

 

Imperial Court of Washington, DC

The mission of the Imperial Court of Washington, D.C. is to raise funds for 501(c)(3) organizations, including but not limited to those supporting the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community, HIV/AIDS services organizations, social service organizations, and youth enrichment programs. It seeks to provide a safe, social environment for people with the same interest as those of the membership and to create and promote positive community awareness of the ideals of the International Court System.  Our members are dedicated to the causes and charities chosen by our organization.

JR’s

Latino GLBT History Project

The Latino GLBT History Project (LHP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer-led organization founded in April 2000 to  investigate, collect, preserve, and educate the public about the rich history, culture, heritage, arts, and social contributions of the Latino LGBT community in metropolitan Washington, D.C.  LHP creates educational exhibits from our historical archives collection and showcases them at cultural events such as the Women’s History Month Reception, the Hispanic LGBTQ Heritage Reception, and DC Latino Pride, as well as making educational presentations at local and national conferences and through our online virtual museum.

 

Metro TeenAIDS

 

 Metro TeenAIDS (MTA) is a community health organization dedicated to partnering with young people to end HIV/AIDS.  During our 20+ years of service, MTA has provided education programs and prevention resources to well over 200,000 young people, family members, and youth workers in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

 

Metro Weekly

Metro Weekly has served Washington, DC’s gay and lesbian community since May 1994, and is now the largest and longest-running LGBT publication and website in the region! The print edition is published every Thursday and copies can be picked up for free at more than 500 distribution points.

 

 

Metropolitan Community Churches/The Fellowship/Unity Fellowship Churches

Metropolitan Community Churches of the DMV unite to celebrate Pride and proclaim God’s inclusive love for all people. MCC, a forerunner in the effort to attain marriage equality, is a powerful voice in the LGBTQ movement. MCC is joined by “The Fellowship,” a coalition of Christian churches with a mission to become a resource agent for all who desire the radically inclusive love of Jesus Christ; the Unity Fellowship Church Movement, sharing its message that God is love and love is for everyone; and, GROW Continuum, an interfaith ministry that supports each person in having a personal experience of God.  

National City Christian Church

National City Christian Church, the national church for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), welcomes all who are searching for a spiritual home. Whether your interests are community outreach, mutual support, worship, music, or just plain fun – you are welcome to join us and get to know the warm and caring people that are National City.

Nellies Sports Bar

Nellie’s Sports Bar is an exciting addition to Washington, DC and the U Street/ Cardozo /Shaw community.  Nellie’s is a premier, local-to-DC venue for sports and entertainment.

 

 

One in Ten

 

 

One In Ten is dedicated to education and cultural activism on behalf of gay and lesbian people. One In Ten seeks to nurture the aesthetics, consciousness, and cultural legacy of this community.  One In Ten is a non-profit 501(c)(3) membership-based organization. One In Ten is non-partisan, non-sectarian, and respects the diversity of backgrounds and ideologies of members of the gay and lesbian community.

Phase  1 of Dupont 

Phase 1 of DuPont opened in February 2012, after acquiring the building formerly housing Club Apex.  Allen always wanted to give his Ladies a club on DuPont Circle and took advantage when the Apex building became available.  Phase 1 of DuPont offers a huge dance floor and lighting show. Since opening Phase 1 of DuPont Allen in conjunction with Capital Pride and Lure have continued the FUSE Ladies Dance Party always held on the Saturday of the Capital Pride Festival.  Phase 1 of DuPont is open on Friday & Saturday evenings.  A Sunday Tea Dance is in the works as well as special events and the consideration of opening on Thursday nights with special theme parties.

Phase 1 (SE) 

Since 1970 we’ve had our doors at 525 8th St. SE, Washington D.C. open to women. We are the oldest continually operating lesbian bar in the country.  At Phase 1 we have something for everyone whether you want to come and dance the night away to the latest hip-hop, see a drag king show, listen to queer indie/punk, see some Jello wrestling, or just shoot pool, we have your fix.  With reasonable drink prices, a friendly staff, and a convenient location just steps to the Eastern Market Metro we have what you’re looking for.

The DC Center is your local LGBT Community Center.  The DC Center is here to celebrate, strengthen, and support community among the LGBT residents and organizations of DC.  The DC Center is proud to share offices with Capital Pride, Helping our Brothers and Sisters, and the Latino GLBT History Projected.  The DC Center is located on U St, a short walk from the U St Metro.  Stop by to pick up condoms, access the internet, or check out our LGBT lending library.

Building on 27 years of credibility and service as The Helen Hayes Awards, TheatreWashington is the only organization dedicated to supporting and representing all sectors of the Washington theatre community — theatres, professionals, and diverse audiences of all ages — to build a strong, vibrant, connected community. TheatreWashington represents a collective of the Washington area’s 80+ professional theatres, each of which contributes mightily to the quality of life and the economy of this community. 

 

 

Town 

Town Danceboutique is the largest gay danceclub in Washington, D.C. It is a combination of a cabaret performance space, a plush lounge, and a high energy danceclub. There are two floors, multiple rooms, an outside smoking area, an amazing video installation, state of the art LED lighting, and multiple dance floors and seating areas. Your club experience at Town will consist of multiple performance-oriented productions – extensive drag shows that feature big production numbers, comedy sketches, and amazing outfits – our own in-house dance troupe performing multiple choreographed routines . . . Friday night go-go boys . . . surprise performance artists . . . and nationally recognized performers and DJs. The Washington Blade

The Washington Blade was founded in 1969 as a black and white, one-sheet community newsletter distributed in D.C.-area bars. In October 2009, the Blade celebrated its 40th anniversary as an award-winning news source with a large following in print and online. Readers locally and around the world have come to rely on the Blade’s unmatched coverage of LGBT news, earning the paper the moniker “the newspaper of record for the LGBT community.”

 

Whitman-Walker Health

For more than three decades, Whitman-Walker Health has been committed to providing high quality health care services for the LGBT community. WWH provided primary medical care, HIV care, dental care, mental health services and legal help to more than 15,000 members of our community in 2011! Ziegfeld’s & Secrets

Ziegfeld’s & Secrets is one of the premier nightclubs in Washington D.C.  Ziegfeld’s & Secrets is owned by Allen Carroll who is also the owner of the Phase 1 Nightclubs.  Not only does Secrets on the second level offer the only club with full male exotic nude dancers, Secrets also has a huge dance floor with top DJs as well with an amazing light show.  Ziegfeld’s is known as one of the nation’s best clubs for female impersonation – headed by Ella Fitzgerald who has hosted the Saturday Night Ladies of Illusion’s since 1979.   Ziegfeld’s also offers a dance floor and light show before, during intermission, and after the shows.  Secrets is open Wednesday through Sunday, and Ziegfeld’s is open Friday & Saturdays.  Ziegfeld’s & Secrets has something to offer everyone for all walks of life.
