December 1 marks World AIDS Day. The theme this year is “The Time to Act Is Now.” We couldn’t agree more. We’ve made so much progress in the fight against HIV over the past three decades, but we need to step up the pace if we’re going to reach ambitious local, national, and global goals to end HIV and AIDS.
Outlined below are several ways you can get involved in supporting the work we are doing here at Whitman-Walker to address HIV in D.C.
As we’ve done for years, Whitman-Walker Health will commemorate the day with a candlelight vigil to honor those we’ve lost to AIDS and reflect on the progress we’ve made towards ending the epidemic. We hope you’ll join us at6 p.m.Tuesday, December 1, on the sixth floor of 1525 14th Street, NW. We’re thrilled to be able to hold this vigil from our new health center for the first time ever.
